Ballon Rouge

Ballon Rouge is a Greek jazz manouche band that was formed in the spring of 2016. Their name is borrowed from an old French film - a hymn to childhood innocence.

Gio VIda and Spyros Tsilofytis share the same love for Manouche or Gypsy Jazz music. They also have a long presence in the Greek gypsy jazz music scene having participated in various festivals (Djangofest Athens, Oeta Festival, Paou Festival etc).

The duo was joined by bassist John Syggounis and the trio was completed. Their repertoire includes: Jazz standards, gypsy swing in the Django Reinhardt's style, but also Latin classics in Bossa nova, Bolero, Rhumba etc, International and Greek classics, as well as their own original compositions.
